Community Guidelines

Respect, always

This is a community of public servants, professionals and their families. Conduct yourself the way you would in a respected workplace — thoughtful, civil, direct.

• No harassment, insults, threats, or sustained messaging after someone has stopped replying.
• No demeaning remarks about caste, religion, region, community, gender, sexuality, body, family or income. Asking about these in a marriage conversation is normal; using them to belittle someone is not.
• No political campaigning, ideological recruitment or fundraising.
• A "no" is a no — in a request, in a conversation, and after you meet.

Be who you say you are

Your profile must be you. Borrowed photos, invented credentials, a misdescribed posting or income, or a claim to be an officer's child when you are not, end your membership permanently.

• Use recent photographs of yourself, face clearly visible in at least one, no heavy filters.
• Your voice introduction must be your own voice.
• Do not impersonate officers, officials or public figures, and do not present uniform, rank or insignia as an official endorsement.
• One person, one account.

Discretion

Officers in particular carry information that must never reach this app. When in doubt, share less.

• Never share classified, official, operational or non-public information — about your work, a case, a file, a posting decision or a colleague.
• Never name or identify a colleague, complainant, accused person or matter before you.
• Never solicit or offer anything of value in connection with an official act, or use the network to seek influence over one.
• Avoid photos in uniform with visible rank or unit insignia.
• Never send financial details, OTPs or ID numbers in a conversation, and be suspicious of anyone who asks.

Photos and media

Our review team rejects profiles that do not meet these standards before anyone else sees them, and removes chat and Circle media that breaks them.

• No nudity or sexual content, in profiles, conversations, view-once photos or Circles.
• No images of minors.
• No weapons, no visible classified material.
• GIFs are for reactions; the rules above apply to them too.

Conversations

A connection is two people who each said yes. Keep it that way.

• Text, voice notes, photos, view-once photos and GIFs are all for the person you are talking to. Forwarding, screenshotting or recording them is a breach — screenshots are blocked in the app and attempts are recorded.
• A view-once photo is exactly that. Do not ask for one to be re-sent, and do not try to capture it.
• Do not move a conversation off the app in order to evade these rules.
• Conversations with no messages for two weeks close on their own. That is not a slight; either of you can send a fresh request later.

Requests, Credits and Spotlight

• Say what a request is about. The purpose you pick is shown to the recipient; do not pick "Professional network" to get past a member who is not open to marriage, or the reverse.
• Keep Network chats professional. No flirting, compliments on looks, or romantic pressure — members can report "Unwanted advances in Network", and repeated reports lose you Network. A Network chat never turns into a marriage chat: if you are both here for marriage, connect for that separately and let the other person choose.
• A Credit is a way to say "this one matters", not a way to pressure someone. It does not obligate a reply.
• Do not farm Credits — dummy conversations, mass endorsements, or Circle answers written to hit a number. We remove Credits earned that way.
• Spotlight puts you in front of everyone. The same profile standards apply there as everywhere.
• Second Look is for a genuine change of mind, not a tool to keep reappearing to someone who passed on you.

Ratings

Only a connection can rate a connection, one rating per pair, and everyone else sees only the count and the average. Rate honestly and about your actual dealings. Threatening a rating, or trading one, is a breach.

Circles

A Circle is a small closed room — around thirty people, one topic, four weeks, then it ends. A moderator posts a prompt every few days and everyone answers in a few lines. What you write is visible to everyone in that Circle and stays there after it closes; treat it as something a colleague could read back to you.

• Answer the prompt. There is no free-form feed, and that is deliberate.
• No official, classified or operational information — the rule that matters most here.
• No naming a colleague, complainant or case.
• No soliciting or offering anything of value for an official act.
• No recruitment, marketing or sales.
• What is said in a Circle stays in it. Nobody outside can see it, and you should not carry it out either.
• Images in answers follow the media rules above.

Answering anonymously

Some Circles let you answer without your name. Others see that you are a verified officer or member, and nothing more. Anonymity exists so people can be honest about working life — not to say things you would not put your name to.

• The same standards apply to an anonymous answer as to a named one.
• Anonymity is not hidden from us: our safety team can always see who wrote what, and acts on reports either way.
• If you reply in your own anonymous thread we keep you anonymous there too.
• Thirty people is a small room. Anonymity hides your name; it cannot hide everything else.

Reporting and blocking

If something feels off — a profile, a message, an answer, a reply — report it from the three-dot menu. Reports go to our team, never to the person you reported, and are read by a person, with the aim of triaging every one within 24 hours. Reporting an anonymous answer never tells you who wrote it.

• You can block any member at any time. They disappear from your Members deck, Picks, Search, Spotlight, Circles and conversations, and you from theirs, immediately.
• Anything flagged by several members is hidden automatically while a person reviews it.
• You can delete anything you have written, at any time.
• For anything urgent — a threat, a minor, a crime — email safety@officersaathi.com as well as reporting in the app.

Consequences

Violations are handled in proportion. A minor lapse gets a warning. Repeated ones pause your ability to write in Circles or send requests while you keep the rest of your account. Anything harmful, exploitative, fraudulent or illegal results in a permanent ban and, where warranted, a report to the authorities — and forged government documents are always referred. You can ask us to reconsider through Help & support.
